As has been said here, you're very unlikely to need XLR to plug into a system. If you do though, the box mentioned earlier that you'd need is a DI Box.

Because they're controllers and entry level mixers that are probably not expected to be plugged directly into the main outs, so XLR outs are forgone to reduce cost and save space for the target market.

    My guess:

    1) Controllers are typically targeted towards the mobile market, beginner to intermediate DJ. They are not really targeting club installs or club DJs.

    2) Controller are not meant for club installs, therefore they will not likely be plugged in direct, but rather go through a mixer.

Myself personally, I will NEVER use a controller by itself in a club gig. I have brought controllers to club gigs, only if I know there is a CDJ that I can use as a back up. I have always brought back up CD or thumb drive. If my laptop craps out or the controller acts up, it only take a few seconds to switch over. Controllers are nice, I own 3 of them, but I am not comfortable using them solely at any of my club gigs. Even when I use them for a mobile, I typically have a back up laptop (the one running my lights)

Also, you stick a clunky big XLR port on the back of a plastic controller and its only a matter of time before it breaks.
