    ok so ive narrowed it down to either the technics rp-dj 1200 or the pioneer 5oo's spoke to a shop thats local ish and gonna have a look early next week, ill let you all know what i go for cheers for the help.

    I use the sony mdr-xd100, they are well in your price range and they are very good for the money, although i have never really giged with them but the sound that comes out of them is good.
