    Hey Uncle DJ,

Just wanted to get in and represent Point Blank Music School in here.

We are based in London, but also provide top quality onilne classes as well. We cover both performance, and also production, and the classes are taught by some of the best producers and DJs around.

Check out our Free Sample Courses Page, where you can have a go at a selection of the online classes for a number of different Ableton courses.

Link to shorter 4-8week Ableton Courses
Link to longer Online Ableton courses

Let me know what you think!

    Cheers,
    James - PB

most people overlook the use of FREE training video's

im dubious as most people taking these kinda courses end up doin backing music for adverts n stuf i dont think fatboyslim, E-Z, tiesto or guetta took any courses like this lol they just got pure soul.

    Hey Chismay,

I don't think anybody overlooks the use of free videos (I definitely don't!) It's one of the reasons we endeavour to put out as much free content as we can. I wouldn't recommend for anybody to jump straight into taking a paid for course with us if they hadn't checked out our free tutorials or free sample courses. It's free stuff! Use it!

On your point about big name DJs and producers; I think any of the examples you have given would bite the hand off an advertising company to have their music as a backing track. If you are looking for a open, creative job in the music industry, you can do a lot worse than writing music to a brief. That’s how the music world has operated for hundred of years before now. Make music for money to make music for pleasure.

Also a number of already successful industry professionals have taken our courses and have got a lot out of them. The most recent well known artist to study with us was Claude VonStroke. His philosophy is; you're never too good to learn or refresh your knowledge.

Have you had a chance to take a look at our free resources before? The sample courses are good, as they go into a little more detail than you usually get with just a plain video tutorial.

If you have a go, let me know what you think of them!

    Cheers,
    James - PB

actually a lot of the big names have the companies send them tutors. One of the guys who came to the store i work at to give us some "re-phreshers" on traktor and maschine was also the guy teaching bad boy bill how to use traktor and helping him through the "transition".

i believe he is still mostly on serato, but these companies will send their "tutors" when ever they can, and usually send them for free. Its a way to get their software seen a lot more often in the clubs... (Marketing/sales tactic anyone)

It's quite likely. You've gotta keep up with the word on the street...or forum! I'm on most of the worthwhile DJ & music production forums. You get the chance to hear totally unbiased opinions of what people think of the school / music courses in general. So they are an important tool for us to keep improving and developing things over here.

It is quite rare to come across people representing the other music schools though, which I find odd.

    Cheers,
    James - PB
