If you're after the spiritual successor to things like Flowers and Girls Like Us, you should be looking at the UK Funky scene.

I'd say stuff like Katy B - Lights On, and RD - U Got Me Burning is very much the sound you're after.

Both produced by Geeneus, of course, who's been on the garage thing since day.

Check out The Mike Delinquent Project and Artful (Mark Hill of Artful Dodger), they've been putting out some good tunes lately. I think Zed Bias has made a couple 2-step remixes recently as well.

+1 on Mike Delinquent, he's about the only producer putting out some good UKG-esque remixes at the minute. As for UK funky, I tried really hard to get into it ( lots of listening to Crazy Cousins and Katy B ) but didn't really 'get it'.

what a nice thing to wake up to (well to come home too), lots of new artists to listen to.

UK Funky is another "new to me" genre ...i'd assumed it had come from (or was) funky house ....

Delinquent is a good one, I used to know him from radio days actually, very nice guy!
There is quite a lot of stuff around if you look closely. It seems that a lot of people are making tunes are more of an 'homage' to garage than straight garage tunes. But there was so many styles back then (like in all genres) that 'garage' means different things to different people.

I'm personally really liking Joy Orbison and SBTRKT's take on things.
