nice that you didn't lost a lot of money, is your hdd gone? or all previous data saved? ;D

dude, i can rarely imagine what would happened to this poor guy at one of my parties.
i am SURE the whole party crew would "tell" him her opinion about his actions and i have no doubt it would be a long and painful hospital residience for him.

lucky for this guy he did that to you and not to some other people which are not so friendly ;o)

i would rather say that not "music + alcohol" is the problem, i think its "alcohol + emotions" ^^

    and music triggers emotions haaaard

PS: would go so far that i say that you have done a great job if this guy wanted so hard to be you that he saw no other option as destroying the equipment which makes you sooo much cooler than him, lol ;o)

Correct, but the lack of SPECIFIC music, his turn to play and the booze made his emotions run HARD!

i wish i had the answer for that, just let us dj's do what we do and thats it, in the old days you asked for a song and hoped they played it but now everyone wants to lose total respect and violate your stuff. needless to say the dude learned his lesson

Wow that sucks, there would have been VIOLENCE if that happened to me, but it would have been other people at the party administering the beatdown. Everyone I know has the good sense to not screw with my or anyone else's gear, regardless of how drunk they get.

Exactly. Look at this gear, looks expensive, eh? Well it is. Hands off.

It suprises me that anyone would look at someone elses setup and think, "oh it's my turn to play dj". I'm as equally surpised that he was able to get ahold of anything. You'd think someone would have seen what was going on and put a stop to it.

Expensive lesson for everyone. Able to salvage the HD? Did you have a backup of your library?
