If you could play them in itunes, would indicate that Itunes knows where they are, not necessarily that they haven't been moved =P. Just to confirm that isn't the issue, could you go into traktor, And on the left hand side, expand the itunes library. From there, try play a song that wouldn't play before (Rather than trying to play it straight out of your traktor library). Will it work?

Maybe that is why the SYNC button is then only half marked - I have no idea tbh.....
Half marked sync just means that it isn't the Master deck. As rule of thumb, whatever deck you play first is master (If you have sync turned on the other decks, you will find their tempo faders are greyed out, and you can only adjust the Master deck. Master = The box is orange, but the writing is black. A slave deck is a grey box with Orange writing... Although the colouring might be slightly different if you are using Pre-traktor 2.0, it still functions the same way).

Regardless, as I mentioned earlier before. Sync by default doesn't match the phrasing of the tracks, just the tempo. You will still need to push them into phase with each other. If you want it to stay in phrase, enable quantise at the top of the screen. Otherwise turn on Beatsync in the options (See the earlier link I gave).

Your other problem could possibly be bad beat-gridding. See below links for more information

Cue points still work with Timecode Vinyl. You just press whatever hotcue you set and it jumps. I don't understand what you mean by 'start automatically' though. Could you please elaborate?

Honestly, with traktor pro 2 being so cheap... if you're using an earlier version, an upgrade might just fix all your problems.

About the itunes library - Only partly! I tried this to make sure it wasnt just because of the history. i still have sooooo many songs that wont play and this is what I dont understand

I thought I was doing this with the master and sync. i need to spend some more time I guess looking through all the options

I meant, if I am using vinyl, as in the old school way of hands on, I would normally just release the vinyl and go, I dont see how then that works with cue points I have set on the Mac - maybe just me being stupid, as I said, not spent much time on any of the functions, I basically just used it before to carry on vinyl beat matching but from my itunes library

Might have to look into Trakotr Pro then, not sure now though.......... I guess I would just like to be shown properly how to use ANY of these softwares properly - am a learning by doing person rather than just reading manuals - my error I guess!

    Thanks for your advice!

Not sure if this is the right thread to post this in, since it seems like most people here are using MAC. I just bought a new PC and migrated my itunes library from the old machine to the new one. Most of the files are m4a and won't play. I'm running Traktor 2.6.2.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
