SSL Mixers: Which allow for the best navigation of the software?

for me the X1 is amazing. relativly small unit, can load the thing with 2 pages of controls by just using the shift button to navigate scrolling, loops, loop rolls, cues, setting screen layouts, switching between internal, relative, abs, total control of all effect parameters. one thing im not sure on though, is how to load 2 effects to one channel (for example using a delay, and a high pass filter on deck a)

and yes, the unit doesnt light up like a christmas tree to start, but its relativly easy to do so. if you have trouble though, go on the serato forums and find konixs big thread for the x1. once its set up, all you need to do is load the contrller editor before using serato each time.

Before diving into the Konix thread - is there a PC equivalent to the midipipe hack?

I'm not convinced there are that many people using Effects in SSL. Certainly not like the people who mangle songs with Traktor.

Very true. I find most people that tend to lean toward Serato generally have a lot invested into their setups, and most likely will have mixers with on-board FX. Having a scratch mixer though, it's nice having them available in the software until the time I can switch the mixer up

I get what you mean, the quick navigation is great on the NS7. From your description I think the Rane Sixty-Two would fit nicely into your new set-up. It has navigation for deck on the top corners of the mixer. It also has cue point buttons built in as well as loop functions and sample triggers. All these features and it only takes up one USB slot. It's expensive but since money is no object it may well be the ideal mixer you are looking for.

The sixty-two/one or the TTM57 are what I'm narrowing my search down to. Just looking to fiddle around with them hands-on to get an idea of what the tactility is like.
