i haven't listened to very many essential mixes to be honest but my favorite is surprisingly fake blood's mix. it was a very technically solid mix and the flow was amazing. i like how it was split into the two separate sections. i think there were moments of nero's mix that were genius as well.
i've also listened to the sub focus mix and i didn't really like it. to me it seems like he is always trying to mix 2 songs both during heavy drops and it ends up sounding bad and squashed cause there's no headroom left. i actually find a lot of dubstep and dnb djs do this though, so maybe it's just me who doesn't like it.

So hard to pick a favorite. Ones I really enjoy and have listened to 10+ times:
Laickback Luke, Nero, Avicii, deadmau5 (the last hour is absolutely dreamy), Above & Beyond 2011, Cosmic Gate, Netsky, and Alex Metric.
MBP - Kontrol S4
pendulum, back in the day
Denon DN-X1600.Traktor X1.Macbook.http://soundcloud.com/jaskotech
Basement Jaxx 1999 (Still crank this regularly)
Infusion 2004 (I miss these guys)
Nicholas Jaar 2012 (This is a work of art, music at it's finest)
Diplo 2007 (My favourite mashup set)
Four Tet 2008
Flying Lotus 2008
James Blake 2011
Jamie xx 2011
Sure do.
He's done a lot of solo work in recent years and he has a new live project he's been working on with Steve Ward.

We're quite lucky in Melbourne, amazing scene for that type of music, the locals (Phil K, Jamie, Darius Bassiray, Mike Callander etc)
are international calibre. We even get Pappa for a month or so a year when he comes home.
