People confusing electro and electro house is kind of a touchy issue in places where electro is still popular.

Well considering the OP is the one stating what he believes in correct about timing and history we are educating. Nothing wrong with that buddy. No body is saying the music is shit or good. You need to cool your jets. We are trying to educate a person on when music evolved and how it evolved. If you don't know those things you can't really learn.
Its like a classical music person saying they are going to go with the new way of music without every knowing about Mozart and his history. Its just things you gotta learn. No one is crucifying the kid, correcting information that is wrong.
No ones bashing the guy. The guy was making statements that were patently incorrect and there is just a bunch of folks on here who have alot more knowledge and subsequently corrected him, in a non insulting way. Think of it as an education

we all love each other, bravo!!!
teach me your ways young jedi.
Really? Poor bastard.
I've got some Anthony Rother records that would've been released sometime after 2002 that are electro
Dave Clarke's World Service CDs both have an awesome REAL electro disc. I still listen to them. The last one of those was 2004 or 2005?
I'm sure there is more recent examples I've just stopped following it, a lot of earlyish Hacker stuff kinda bridged Electro-Electroclash/House.
Electro House came after/out of Electroclash... Dubstep came out of UK Garage/2-Step, that was my vague recollections. possibly wrong, but it's always been how I remember the sound evolving at record shops, clubs, festivals etc.
I remember listening to a King Unique essential mix in 2004 that blew me away, it was when that farting bassline sound that electro-house loves so much still sounded fresh., stuff like Rex The Dog, Alter-Ego etc.
But meh. Genres give me the shits, but we'd be screwed without them, imagine trying to go through Beatport without them.
at the dude that didn't realise techno was from Detroit, people really should be forced to know the basics of electronic music history.
This young chap may have the answers![]()
