i should also note that for embedded scripting languages there are already very powerful yet easy to use established "standards". one being python and the other being lua. i dont get why people invent new scripting languages for a single application.

I think if VDJ had quantizing it would shout about it as it is a very important feature that helps perform seemless beatjumps and cue jumps. If VDJ doesnt have Quantizing then jumping between all those cue points must be real fun.
I would ask if anyone actually used more than 8 cue points in a track. I mean , i dunno, maybe.
As for Traktor being for beginners thats the funniest thing ive read in a while.

Netsearch is a very dubious feature. Musicgroups is another odd feature for a 'Pro DJ' software.

sorry for spamming .. here is the full feature list:

vdj also has OSC support, vst plugin support, a 12 slot sampler and for those who care .. video mixing support. on paper this all sounds pretty good.

i think there is no mac demo If you want to try out vdj for pc do it now as long as 5.2 is the demo, there will be a 6.0 demo next week, this way you could see the differences made in the program.

I still dont know what you mean by quantizising... i guess you mean cue-jumps on time when not preesing the button at the right time? Thats up to the dj, for me e.g. i can easily do the rock-you-routine with vdj and even more.

I didnt mean that traktor is easier, its just that in my opinion traktor is doing better because it concentrates on controllers or DVS, depending what kind of traktor you choose. If you get the basic version of vdj you can only use your mouse and keyboard, and the pro version gives you so much more features that can confuse you like the DVS functionality or video mixing or the 12-slot sampler, the effects (theres 100īs) and so on. Therefore i think its better for the start than sth you dont understand fully. Speaking in general, no pun intended.
