If I was to make a logo I think I would just have a cool font type .png instead of a symbol.

PC, Also keep in mind that most "logo's" that are DJ's is their name in a certain font or catchy design when put on flyers. It's note really a logo or badge like what you have. If you pull up the flyer for Ultra you will see about 50 or so, maybe more, DJ names written in a manner that is their brand. I would lean that way when making a logo.
That is a very good point. However I would also want to have something recognizable and slick for biz cards, gear items (like a sticker for my laptop, banners, etc).

On my tech form I am on (ArsTechnica) a number of people have commented how a 45 spacer looks like 3 penises. <facepalm>

hate the colour scheme... the colours look really desaturated, but maybe they are CMYK not RGB. Also the corporate style will only work with corporate clients. It will never resonate with the kids or club goers.

Well not too concerned about the kids. My target audience would probably be more late 20's to 30somethings. Sorry Wiz Khalifa will never touch my decks. (Just really saying that in jest. Just don't really feel newer hip hop acts that much).

Hmmm too corporate again. I really can't do graffiti style in illustrator to make it a bit more fun.

Check out how these names are written. That is their logo.

Every big DJ i've seen that has their name on a laptop is done with a his name in a nice font. The same is used on flyers, business cards, etc. That becomes the brand.

Like I said, I'd shoot for something like on the flyer vs. a corporate logo

Yes and there's a simple reason behind it. It takes years and billions of market dollars to establish a recognizable logo while something spelled out is instant marketing.

the problem is you aren't giving enough information in the logo.. And that the original logo would take a company many years to get enough brand recognition to be able to use on it's own.

Also if you are designing for the web change the colors to RGB so they display properly on computer monitors, CMYK is for print.

I would agree synthet1c, the logo, even the new one, seems a little lacking in "message". I may go straight up name, I need to think on it some more.

Thanks for the RGB/CKMY tip. I used to be a print and web designer and made a couple mistakes to remind me to switch to the relevant palette in the past.

I really like your name, think it sticks in the head quite well - if i downloaded a bootleg of yours for example i would definitely remember your name.

I think others are right about the logo, however i think you've nearly nailed the typography with this one, just have that text with the "paris" centred and maybe double spaced and just have the text.

a contact page and radio/soundcloud page would be nice... your logo is great but would serve as more a icon next to a nice font for your logo... overall your site looks great, but i would prefer a different colour or image for the background.
