Them brains aint cheap lol
The teensy is pretty good if you're prepared to do a little soldering and coding, I have no knowledge of the coding side but am looking into it for the controller I make after the usb gamepad one I have planned.
Yea Livid ain't cheap but it's easy to set and support any type of control. Check their facebook page - I saw new mini brain version they're working on, I'll be checking it out once it's released. Hopefully not very long time after NAMM.
Think i'll try the gamepad 1st... Which one did you use?
It was cheap one really, kind a PS 12 buttons gamepad.
aaah. Whats the response like? ok for multiple button presses? can you press the directin buttons together as ive heard thats a problem as you would never press left and right together in a game.....
Im thinking a pc one with turbo buttons, the lot hehe

maybe..
Bad for cue juggling, good for effect triggering which my controller was mainly build for.
No can do... I don't even use those.ok for multiple button presses? can you press the directin buttons together as ive heard thats a problem as you would never press left and right together in a game.....
That's the one, well sort of... It will do for beginner controller.Im thinking a pc one with turbo buttons, the lot hehe

bummer. so would be crap for remix decks? Cant seem to find any info on how the mf is able to control 16 cells of the remix deck assigned to each button.
Yet people do seem to build diy midi's and use mf sample packs. This is all so baffling.
Using a gamepad you rely almost completely on the software translation to do anything funky in MIDI. Any usb gamepad will do, often the cheaper the better as they don't have any complex drivers or multi-layer circuit boards to worry about. The one I'm using looks like it may be possible to drill through and make the wire mountings 'through hole' which will make it more sturdy.
Ill probably do a little build log of mine, just gotta get back to uni cause I ordered all the pushbuttons to my flat there! Opted for super cheap 6x6x17mm momentary switches and got a readers digest hardback from the charity shop for 50p for the case, less than a tenner all in including the pad, not too bad.
Got this one for the next mod, gonna keep the analogue sticks I think, they have pushbuttons built in. http://www.amazon.co.uk/COMPUTER-GAM...6823299&sr=1-4
