HD MIDI will be more precise, essentially rendering controllers more sensitive.

Not only is it more precise it has a higher bandwidth, this means that when you are scratching with the jogs send more messages allowing for a more authentic sound/feel of vinyl. Also lower latency, which is personally the hugest one for me, i have learned to live without high resolution knobs quite well for live instances but the latency is the biggest killer.

The way I felt when I started using Traktor was - LOST.

In the program itself, nothing is really explicitly explained as you're using it. It feels like everything is unlabelled and so forth. I'd take it slow and try to work with the program without the manual as much as possible, because I felt I retained whatever I'd learn a little more this way (as you're essentially learning through trial and error). Later on I'd look at what I really didn't understand and read the section on the manual about it and work through it on the computer at the same time.

It's really really simple IMO...you can do some cool stuff with Traktor, but really nothing super crazy unless you get really inventive! Of course, I'm happy with mixing two decks with some cue points here and there
