BURIALs album UNTRUE. it's a music of life! so emotional!!!
hey
while there are a whole load of tunes that i love (i doubt i could ever narrow it down to 3!) I think like a lot of people have said the REALLY powerful ones are not so much about the song its self as the memories and situations that they bring back. Most of mine aren't dance tracks just songs that happened to be on at a particular time and are connected to powerful memories.
Listening to some British indie bands from the mid nineties reminds me of high school, the friends i had there and listening to CD's while studying for my exams, while listening to certain chart records from 2000 - 2002 reminds me of when me and a whole pile of my friends all worked in a bar together where i was a supervisor and weekend DJ when i was around 20/21, and the carefree life and going out 5 nights a week that we were able to have before bills and mortgages and 'proper jobs' and real life caught up with us
But the most emotion filled one is My Love is Your Love. It got to number 2 in the charts over here in the UK and so was on the radio practically ever other song over the summer of 1999. At the same time time my mum and youngest brother and sister (who were about 7 and 10 at the time) had hired a little holiday home on a wee island called Millport just of the coast for a couple of weeks. I couldn't stay the whole time due to work but would drive over every few days and spend a day, or a night or two. So now hearing this song if it ever comes on the radio while I'm driving just takes me right back to sunny days and being 19 and driving along with shades on and windows down to get the ferry over to see them, and a feeling of contentment and again a time where life was a little more care free.

LOL,
Another one, while i remember, that i have never told anyone did actually bring me to tears the first time I heard it and still gives me a lump in my throat, was the JCB song by Nizlopi. Don't know if it made it over to the US or anywhere else.
I never had the best relationship with my Dad, not anything really bad just were never close, lovey family things weren't him, and i had heard of this song and looked it up on the net, reading the backstory before i actually heard it.
Its the true story of a guy who was very dislexic and was bullied lots at school, had a terrible time. Told from his 5 year old eyes, every so often to give him a wee break from everything his dad, who was just an average every day working man who drove a JCB for a living, would phone into school for him and say he was sick and then take him to work with him. The song is all about how would spend the day driving about in the JCB with his dad having fun and getting a chance to forget about all his problems for the day.
Man, when I actually heard the song it FLOORED me! Such a simple wee song but the sheer worship this little 5 year old boy has for his dad and the obvious love the dad had for him for doing this ("My dad's probably had a bloody hard day, But he's been good fun and bubblin and jokin' away") actually brought me to tears and made me think of my relationship with my dad and how when i have kids i'm gonna make SURE I have a closer relationship with them.

Enjoy
Kevin: that jcb song is excellent. Makes me feel bad about all the terrible things I've put my parents through.
And if were going to go the non-edm route, then I'm going to have to throw this out there (it doesn't get any more less EDM than this, lol). This song, honestly, freaks me the hell out. I don't know why. I'm sure most of you have heard this before, but it honestly gives me the chills every time I hear it.
edit: and if you havent heard this before, give it until about 1:40
