    Check these out:

I believe this was posted as a response to a question regarding cables that someone asked a while back. Great resource and breaks down the individual parts that you may need for making your own cables.

I followed it a while back and made some basic RCA cables as practice and they turned out great. Planning on purchasing high end parts to make another pair soon.

This was actually an article that DJTT posted a while back. Great video showing the entire process.

    Hope these help!

    as a teaching tool?

Plus it will strain a headphone amp. Two pairs of headphones plugged into the same jack will half the impedance at the output stage. At high sound levels you can burn out the headphone amp in the mixer.

Sorry. I just have never see that before.

Well my HD 25s are 70ohm, and Sennheiser also make earbuds that go down to 16ohm so I think impedances will be fine. Headphone splitters are pretty common in more consumer-based audio. I've never had problems connecting two sets of low-impedance cheap buds to a laptop or MP3 player.

We'll be having several setups in the same room so speakers of course aren't a great idea and there won't be too much ambient noise (like you'd get in a club) so headphone levels won't be too high either.

oh so you guys are two performers performing together? Like Daft Punk?
That's why you need two sets of headphones?

That's a possible application, but I got them so both the teacher and learner can listen the mixing without having to set up speakers.
