    at OP:
if the headliner is playing dubstep/dnb, why would you play electro/house?
imho it is best if you´d play some deeper dubstep stuff and or some laid back liquid...

Because that's what the local crowd responds best to over here. Also it's not laid back at all. Think Dada Life, Aktrac, Laidback Luke, LA Riots.... It's a high energy set.

i don´t get it. you are opening for them. why playing all this banging stuff before the headliner get´s on stage? and also does the crowd just go there because they are used to or are they coming to see the headliner? if the second option is the case, i´d play stuff that is genrespecific similar to what the headliner is playing.

People come out to this specific venue to have a good time and party. This is one of the only decent clubs in our smallish city (120000 ppl) and I've noticed that the club classics get better responses in my area then does a 125bpm warm up set. If I break out on stage doing that I'll get kicked out. Guaranteed. No one responds to that type if set here. I need to pump up the crowd because the next set us heavily trap and dubstep and that's what they're paying to see. I don't have to play their genre because electro house goes over really well in that venue.

That's my plan. A couple hard drops from Call Me Maybe into some One Direction will have the crowd jumping. Got my Disney playlist all set up, don't worry guys I got this.

The depressing thing is that Luke Bryan would probably go over well here....
