    1) downgrade the firmware
    2) try on a different computer, with a different usb cable, fix the cable connector to the 4trak with duct tape so you can be sure it's not moving there.

There seems to be a lot of audio software related issues with windows 8. Maybe I'll try running traktor in compatibility mode or something, if I can even do that.
Or i'll probably just end up making a windows 7 or xp partition with an account JUST for djing, i've kind of been meaning to do that anyway to keep work/personal a little more separated and organized.

This is exactly what I ended up having to do, I had so many issues with windows 8 and my 4 trak. Once I made a seperate partition with windows 7 I won't say all the issues stopped but a great majority did.

I ended up reinstalling 7 on a spare partition and setting up only my DJ stuff on it, and all my issues disappeared. Can you tell me which ones of yours still happened, just so I can watch out for future issues?

Well, I installed Windows 7 on a spare partition on my laptop, and I've had zero issue. In fact, it runs even smoother, not considering the responsiveness problem. I called Numark and they said they don't support windows 8 with the 4trak yet, and do not know when the driver will be released for it.

Does traktor load too much cpu? Do you have any other MIDI task running?

is it plugged into a USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 port?

i had an issue with my edirol UA-25 audio interface & Windows 8, it was because i plugged it into a USB 3.0 port. when i plugged it into a USB 2.0 port and reinstalled the driver it works perfect now.

i was considering picking up a 4trak, but i'm having second thoughts about it now that i see the issues with Windows 8
