Like Chris said, it is music for the masses.
Yeah of course it's not for everyone's liking. And I don't like all the songs they play, god no, but I like how they do it most of the time, and I appreciate their background and that they're not some pure electronic musicians, they're just guys from a rock band really, that love all kinds of music.

Have 2manyDJs finally changed their set cus i seen em about 4 times and 50% of the set was exactly the same. They are good though. And definitely very influential for many people. Just , a bit like the Scratch Perverts , they can do lame shows and just play the obvious tunes.

I saw Soulwax (the band) at Manchester Uni about 9 years ago, im sure it was 2000, they were fucking awesome. Great band.

If you've saw them at any point in the last 12 months then the set is probably around 85% of the same stuff with about 15% of whatever tracks are big at that current time thrown in to update it a little.

I've seen them play at least 10 times in the last 5 or so years and the first few times I saw them they were AMAZING and were mashing stuff up (a la "As heard on... pt2") but in the last few years they seem to have shot up to the big leagues and with that their sets have been more stale. Cater to your audience and all that though. Like a few people over at the Erol Alkan forum said, the % of us who want them to change their set every time and push the boundaries are in the minority at their gigs nowadays, the masses go to hear the songs they know will get played and would probably leave disappointed if they didn't play them. I guess it's a catch 22 for the guys...

Yeah i guess thats true. Thing is they arent doing what they became famous for which is knocking tracks together that no-one else would ever think about doing. It was genius to begin with. Its the kinda thing that cant be allowed to go stale or it defeats the object.

If i saw them again and they played Blur - Song 2 i think id walk out.

I wish the band would make another album. That would be worth the £s

I don't think I got to see them at their best to be honest. Due to a delay in their flight they were 45 minutes late for their set and had to rush on.
I would LOVE to see Soulwax, I saw that promotional video a couple of years back and that looked like my kind of thing
