I hate on-ears, but love the sound of Sennheisers.

These would have been great for me. But - that price is horrific.

the hdj 2000 was 349 when it came out and that didn't stop people from getting em; kind of same with vmoda m100 so I think they will do fine, sucks that I won't be able to afford one

Sennheiser is indeed a pretty great brand. I remember purchasing an earphone for my mp3 player, when i first heard of this brand. I was pretty much skeptical at first but now i know i made a great decision back then.

really making me regret picking up my bherenger hpx 6000s. though these are more likely far more expensive. if the 7s flip all the way around it would be a no brainer for me (if i didn't just buy other headphones)

They look great but the price is ridiculous. I was actually considering buying a pair until I saw that.

Honestly, I think the HD8s are overpriced. They just launched, so it is expected. As of now, the VModa M100s hold the best value for top-tier headphones (you accessories, great performance, great looks and customizations). The HD8s should be $300 IMO.

I keep hearing that it's a terrible idea to use expensive headphones for DJing since the club is going to be loud and you're not going to get your money's worth from it - not to mention you're pretty rough on them. This all makes perfect sense, why would you want an expensive pair of headphones for DJing? I understand wanting comfort and decent sound, but you can get that out of headphones that won't cost more than a low-end controller.

High end headphones offer better clarity, comfort, and isolation. Why does being in a club automatically mean you're going to be pretty rough on them? They should be on your head most of the time, not much damage there.
