i'm getting my macbook tomorrow. I'm convering from my PC rig and I'm quite new to macs so i was wondering if i need to get different install files from NI. I used the free upgrade when i bought Traktor Scratch w/ Audio8. I hope NI won't make me buy the software again, that would totally suck.

I just received my 13" Macbook Pro on Sat. I had a 14" ASUS A8JS but after two and a half years (1 year out in Iraq eating dust) it was about to shit the bed. The transistion from a PC to a MAC was no problem at all a few hours of messing around got me use to instantly and messing with the settings as well. The downgrade of one inch was not very noticeable but then again the laptop is close to my face on a stanton uberstand. I think Serato Itch looks a bit big on the screen but i havnt find a way to change the resolution for the software. Apart from all that, im pleased.

    Holy,
was just checking prices on the 'AUS' mac site. There is a "new" whitebook [no more firewire ], the prices have droped considerably across the board and the new imac's... wow

looks like getting a mac is even easier

I have the full expandable browser midi mapped, i never try and scroll thru the tracks while the decks are up... I have had my setup like this since i was on my 15" macbook pro.

You can login to the Support section of the Website and download the Mac and PC versions of all the software you are entitled to.

No need to purchase anything, its all good.

I'm probably going to buy a 13" MacBook Pro in the next few days (upgrading from 3 year old MacBook), but i'm reading a few horror stories on the apple forums about people upgrading the hard drive.
It looks like these new machines are really fussy about what hard drive they like. There also seems to be a firmware problem as well. ....a lot of people upgrading to firmware 1.7 are having to roll back to 1.6 as they're suffering from freezes/beachball etc.
Has anybody on here had any problems with upgrading the hard drive on a 13" MacBook pro?
    Cheers

why do you wanna upgrade the hd? I would strongly suggest using an external hd anyhow... I have always used an external firewire 800 bus powered hd for my music.

I tend to agree. .....seeing as you can now stick 500 Gb inside your machine, why bother with external?

I've seen this discussed many times on several forums, I still haven't been convinced of any benefits.

By the way, I went shopping at lunchtime. They only had the 2.53 GHz 13" machine in stock, so I ended up spending a little more than I planned!!
    Cheers
