I had an X1 Mk2 start doing this to me recently, NI took it back in for repair. Seems to be a faulty USB Connector.

It's nothing to do with either or the X1's, it's either the USB port itself, or the audio 10 power adapter. It has to be!

Its likely to be the USB connector on the Audio 10. Assuming you bought the Interface from an authorized dealer NI should replace/repair it for you free of charge.

Damn. So possibly the Audio 10 side of the USB is broke. Crap. Yes I bought a Traktor Scratch 2 bundle brand new w/ audio 10, time code CDs n records, and all that, w/ an X1 off of eBay. So would that count as an authorised dealer?

I'm suspicious that that's not gonna count, probably just the big DJ shops and DJTT would count? :-( Thanks mate I'll try contacting NI as it goes

@elmooso - dude, I think you're right. it must be the Audio 10 USB input. It can't be the power adapter, because then the LEDs wouldn't light up on the audio 10, would they?

It has got to be that USB connector/input! Damn. Let's hope I can sort this out with NI people.

Depends on if the ebay seller you bought it from is an authorized dealer. Go back and look up which seller you bought it from, if you bought it new they may well be.

If NI wont help you take it to your local electronics repair shop. A USB connector usually isn't a difficult thing to repair/replace and they may be able to do it cheaply.

NI replied, and said "Hello Tyler,

please send me a picture of the USB socket, a copy of your invoice and the
hardware ID (underneath the unit). I will then hand over the case to our Hardware
    Support team."

So ive done as said, i found the paper invoice in the box, said its from "Movement Sound & Lightning', so i don't know if they're authorized or not.

And yeah that a good idea to take it to an electronics shop, but, im not 100% sure if it is the USB socket on the audio 10, i mean, its gotta be, can't see what else... if it was the power, the soundcard wouldnt light up, right?

Or maybe th epower adapter is gone a bit, and isnt giving enough power!? THe USB socket looks fine... but it could be damaged ina way i couldnt see maybe?
