I never got into Serato. It does much the same as Traktor, but I don´t support the idea of in-app purchases and the limited controller compatibility.
I hope NI is working on USB3 problems, but I believe NI is working on TP3 with new unique features. TP2 evolved the remix decks. TP3 might combine Machine & Traktor... And TP3 will give us (hopefully) more than two modifier conditions.

I don´t need new features every year. I prefer a stable software that can be tweaked to my workflow via midi (without being limited to expensive controllers).

Since Traktor has ALREADY stolen God knows how many features from Live - why not steal their transient detection function? Then, maybe Traktor could AUTO-CHOP the intro (drum loop?) to a track into individual hits, and load 'em into a Remix Set.
I made this hack a while ago, I would love to see them build on this: http://www.djtechtools.com/2013/07/1...or-remix-deck/

they've never really communicated with their users, Traktor on the record last was updated 2 years ago, they've obviously changed direction with how they want to market themselves, which is fine, but some users obviously don't like this approach.

IMO and i can't see a negative side of this is a tracking of bugs/feature requests and possible timetable of fixes/implementation

I'm honestly dismantling my setup for this very reason. Going to get something that uses Serato.

Depends on the critter in question. While in some mammals balls drop during puberty, hense the phrase, human balls drop shortly after birth. Humans then mature shortly after the heat death of the universe...

I'm surprised NI hasn't come out with a full featured DAW yet. Unless you count the Maschine software a DAW. :| I mean, their Komplete stuff really is a complete feature set. If they threw a DAW in there, then that would really shakeup/crowd the DAW market, as if it wasn't overcrowded already

As for dropping the ball? Meh, it does seem like there's somewhat of a slow down in development for Traktor. Could be that they're baking some new stuff. I wish more companies were like ImageLine, who are very transparent in letting their customers know that "this feature was developed by Team X. No time was taken away from the development of FL studio". It'd be reassuring to hear from NI that the Traktor team is dedicated to Traktor and the Maschine team is dedicated to Maschine. However, someone has to steer the ship so that all these great things play nice with each other. Again, it'd be nice to have more transparency/direct interaction with customers instead of a black box approach where new things just appear. From this transparency, the masses could dictate what features need to be developed, rather than a bunch of people sitting around a whiteboard branstorming things they think the masses need. Case in point: one of the lead designers at Ableton refused to implement multi-monitor support because it contradicted his "design philosophy". The masses bitched and screamed for years, and it took the release of Bitwig to kick their asses into FINALLY implementing it. Science shows that more monitors = better productivity. It's as simple as that. Ergo, that design philosophy is garbage. However, progress was delayed because someone didn't listen to their customers.

I hope NI chooses to listen to the masses as well as industry pros. Better development decisions and products are made this way.

    Rant done :P

    The facts:
Good product teams keep mum on what they are building and when it will launch.
The longer the team is quiet for, the better.

I know Traktor is going gangbusters because I recently got a call about an amazing job at NI on the Traktor product team - I'm just not in a position to move continents again.

I'd love to see a product with much bigger jog wheels and software that supports video
