Not at the same time, but my DDJ-SX didn't sell, so I figure I might as well keep it just for something different.

i learned djing on serato and i had nothing but good impressions with it. I then chose to switch to cd players because iIliked listening to music rather than looking at it. Now i've found that Ive been gravitating to traktor.

the beat jump aspect is really useful and im having a lot of fun with mapping multiple effects with one button.

Im not sure if serato had the same functionality as traktor did with the instant gratification style mappings, but software is pretty fun if you make it your own .

Traktor is focusing too much on making their own hardware, than improving their software. While Serato is busy partnering up with every controller maker, which is very smart on their part. There features are very progressive.

Even DjTechTools is now featuring Serato articles on the main page, I think Rane has the upper hand for the next few years.
I'm a Traktor user myself, but I agree with what you are saying here. I hope it's not the case, but seems like things the last 6 months or so have said different. I'm still wondering what if any update is gonna come with the Z2, let alone another Traktor update.

Well I purchased a used VCI-400 and I see tons of interesting equipment being added to Serato DJ lineup. I can now be versed in two DJ software packages. I also have a backup software just in case you know one crashes on me.

I'm sorry but the term versed is not right here.... This implies you must learn both to Dj on either? You should be able to Dj on anything thrown at ya... Hell I've seen it done with s belt drive TT and discman
