You need an amp to passive speakers or active speakers with the appropriate cables.
If your Rockits have built in amps and volume controls, then, probably.

They're are some cheaper brands that make all-in-one & USB play controllers, Gemini, Numark etc.
Probably not as good quality as the Pio stuff though.
Get what you pay for an all that.

Nope, as you'll be glad to know, Rekordbox is a free application.

The Gemini cdj 700 with a second hand djm 600 could be an option.

However looking into rekord box it looks pretty cool so maybe I'd miss that feature. I however have ableton which alows me to warp and prepare tracks so maybe it wouldn't be a great miss?

So are the Gemini CDs just like cdjs? It wouldn't be like mixing on Gemini turntables at home and then Jumping on 1210s in the club and it being completely different?
I haven't touched Ableton in quite a while. So I can't speak on that.

For all intents and purposes, yes. While some people will bang on the quality, I say results vary depending on a lot of factors. I'm also assuming that these are just going to stay in one place, as it sound like you expect to be playing on provided gear.

Concerning the transition curve, all the reviews I've found state minus a few things you can only find on Pio gear, it's basically the same thing. A good comparison I can come up with is look at the Pioneer HDJ-C70 and the Sennheiser HD 25 series of headphones. It's just a copy of someone copying someone else, with tradeoffs.

Probably not the DENON.. It will not have the CDJ feel, because you can't use rekordbox.

Denon has engine, which is essentially their version of Rekordbox giving much similar control over tunes when loaded into the Denon unit.

Hi, 1st post and all that

I have to say, coming from 15yrs worth of vinyl DJ'ing professionally and then a 10yr break, controllers were a nightmare to choose from.

But, the bar I now play in has the RX and I really can't fault it, we have used it with a windows laptop, a macbook pro, just USB sticks, with tracks prepped by rekordbox and without, we have also had 1210's attached.

This is a superb unit which is undoubtedly the best DJ tool for Mobile use, I would argue that maybe not for home (I have a small place and 2 children ).

Having said all that, I have a Denon MC6000mk2 and I love it, 4 channels, decent audio out, 2 mics, various effects and Serato is ok to use, but as others have said a small unit, which appeals to me, I would take the Denon out with a MBP any day of the week, and we paid £350 for ours as an ex demo model, whilst the RX is £1100 ?

    my 2 pence
