can someone explain to me the best way to update?

I have my Traktor root folder on an external drive (it's too big) and everytime I update I need to either create a new folder or or re-analyze tracks, etc.

Now it's try to re-analyze ALL my tracks, which will take about 12 hours, just seems like there should be an easier way

it's a massive pain in the arse, do you guys have to go through this as well?

Whenever you update just choose not to copy the settings, then point Traktor to the right folder root dir on your external drive and re-open.

Might be a good time to reclaim that space taken by all your duplicate files in there =)

For me, and that's subjective, this latest update is one of the worst ever released. The sum of bugs is annoying. I'm very frustrated about the software, and bugs continue to exist update after update. Worse, new bugs appear.
I don't know what they meant by 'future of djing' but considering the most stable (agreed upon by the 'community') version was 2.6.8 which was released more than 2 years ago, I find that slogan quite laughable.

    If you add to that:
    - lack of communication (globally, on projects, on updates, on update release notes, on Traktor 3)
    - the way the official forum is managed
    - new hardware pieces that are less flexible than before
    - releases that feel totally abandoned in their development (Traktor dj)
    - support that is idiotic ("you have bugs, just do the update"....)
    - the feeling that I'm not using the best software right now ("best" being very subjective) but other developers have made huge leaps during the last years to improve their software, where it feels quite the opposite for Traktor. And even when something new is implemented it feels well less thought out than the competition (slice mode in Traktor is way less fun and practical than Serato's for example).
    - etc, etc

The only things that make me stick with Traktor are:
    - the midi mapping that is above the rest (bearing in mind it's clumsy, lacks a lot of stuff. Fuck, even some obvious commands are missing)
    - the remix decks (but man, how buggy there are right now)
    - the years invested in learning the software, in preparing my musical collection
    - hope (but that factor is shrinking weeks after weeks)

I must admit I'm very frustrated at the moment, that being said, there are some positive aspect, but right now at this point, the flaws, the frustration, the bugs weight way more than those positive sides.

    Latest mix

There’s also an almost hermetic community that exists in many areas of dance music, where serious hobbyists feed off each other’s expertise but barely connect to the industry – despite many of those involved actually working in it.

these two points and not much rtime for djing so wasting my money on anything else really would be

Default After 9 years, I'm at a crossroad.

Hello, I'm going to start with the bugs that I'm dealing with, since the new update.
-tempo drifting just a little bit when there is a lot of thing going on.
-IMPOSSIBLE TO SAVE NEW REMIXSET, and I'm not the only one!!!
-Stems tracks, of tempo more often. saying, deck a-b tracks, c remix deck are all sync except for deck d stems. I do have to nudge
-A good annoying crack in the sound, every 8 or 15 min enough bad for your ears via headphones and speakers.
-weird behaviour in my music files

For the last bugs, I have to say 3 months ago I was in 2.6.8 and everything was stable after following all the tutorials and tweaks to optimize my laptop. Then I saw, that they open the Stems file for the S4, so I jump.

That is when I started to have problem with the big audio crack. So I've decided to roll back to 2.6.8.
Finally I saw the new update, so I said o my self that I should give it a try (that's how naive I am. do you realize how native sound like naive)
Usually I'm not the kind of cynical guy but I'm tiered of this. I fell like it's a big joke! I don't feel like native is according a lot of importance to their clientele. I think it would be a great exercise to do a survey (on this forum for example) on a scale, what do we think about, Native support in this community. Are they looking at the comments, articles, suggestions? that the community wright on this forum and Native forum and all the others.

I was feeling proud to know Traktor and to be a user. Now I'm in between and that's just because of, all the time I spent learning and the mapping that I have.
They are selling Traktor with nice videos for the new customers with nice candy in appearance. For me, Native doesn't look like a company that want to address their problems, they look like their always running against the clock to find a new product to sell, to create a diversion so, everyone is going to forget their issues for a while until the next wave.
I'm seeing other companies being very innovative, giving the impression that they are hand in hand with the community. So that make me wonder, if I should jump in the water and find another boat, or bunch of small canoes to the pursuit of music land.
It's a little bit cheese but, you get my point.

A good side of thing, is that I did learn more about computers but I still think IT SHOULD BE EASIER. In the best world, Native would be a pro-active company selling a computer dedicated to Traktor.
It drives me mad when I see Pioneer coming with product like those: http://djtechtools.com/2016/01/21/na...-rekordbox-dj/
Why it's not Native Why. I after that I say to my self it is probably better like that. BTW I like Pioneer but I spent all my cash with native and I'm starting to regret It !!!!

Someone ask me. Do you think I should go with Traktor, Not sure I would say yes, to my worst enemy.

I'm loosing the taste to play because of all this. I'm starting to read a lot on synth and machine drums, that is going probably, to be my ticket OUT.

Wake-up Native before to much naive people like me Wake-up.

Sorry for the bashing... I'm tired.
No music playing for me tonight!

just switch, I used Traktor, Rekordbox, and Serato interchangably... they all have their set of problems & I'm always having to find 1 workaround or another.
