I've seen some stuff about the twister working as a sequencer and I'll be doing something similar with drum loops that I have created when I get my F1 (It's at home now but can't get it until my birthday on the 11th).

What appeals to me most about using maschine or a drum machine synced with Traktor is the ability to modify the sounds of the hits live, things like changing the decay time of that hats or changing the pitch/tuning of toms. The more I've been playing techno the more I want to find myself getting lost playing with loops and tweaking individual sounds for hours on end.

IMO Volca Beats sound is pretty weak, better off using a Volca Sample as a drum machine

That's actually probably a fair assessment. I like my Beats, but I also always run it through some sort of EQ.

I'm looking at maschine mikro now.
Biggest differences are the Rotary knobs on top and 2 screens instead of 1.

For adding some claps and high hats it would be an good option.

    What are you thoughts?
    Normal or Mikro?

I'd stick to the regular MK2, it's not that much bigger than Mikro and you get a lot more out of it thanks to the dual displays and such. Mikro is ok if you will be mainly using just the pads on stage, everything else will be a lot easier with the regular one.

I've got a Volca Beats. Given the knowledge I have now, I'd probably go for The Volca Sample or save for a TR-8. BUT, it's still a fun little drum machine and a really good intro to electronic music hardware. I would imagine it would be much more interesting if you have the other synths in the series.
