I used that method with Mixvibes (pre-CROSS, MV timecode vinyl frequency 1.3 kHz) and DJ Decks (Serato timecode vinyl frequency 1.0 kHz)with no problems whatsoever.

Does a regular vinyl played thru Y cable sounds the same as if played normally hooked? No gain loss or other sq deterioration?

I never noticed any deterioration. But you'd still have to adjust your gain as normal.

    Bumping up this question:
Anyone tried this soundcard for DVS?
    OMNITRONIC ADI-002PL
It is available under few different brands.
Behringer UFO 202 has inputs and outputs hardwired for monitoring, making it unusable for dvs unless surgical intervention is performed on the printed board inside, so I wonder if it's the same with the Omnitronic.

That's a good question - and I do not know the answer.

But, the UFO 202 mod is ridiculously easy. Any idiot can do it:

Considering you need 2x of those, isn't it better just to buy a used NI Audio 4 or Rane SL1?
    Denon X600 - 2x Denon SC-2000 - AKG K181DJ - NI Audio 2

Depending on the price and condition that could be an option.
