Yeah I understand that but the problem is that the SB2 doesn't even show up in the playback devices list.

Did you perform BIOS setup defaults or load optimal settings in your BIOS so far?

That's whacked - I'm going to take a long shot here. I seen problems were a USB 2.0 port (which is current limited to 500ma) has caused problems with USB port powered controllers that have built in sound cards. Have you tried a USB 3.0 port or a powered hub?

Stewe, can you tell me what the consequences are? I am quit a noob when it comes to things like going into your BIOS. I don't want to lose important files.

Hanginon, yeah I tried 3.0 and a hub but still Serato does not detect it.

Sorry for my late answers, I cought the flu.

OK, just to be clear, you've tried it on an USB 3.0 port, using more than one USB cable, with this driver loaded -

and not only does Serato not recognize it, but Windows doesn't see it either(device manager)??

Yup, Windows says the drivers are not installed/found and Serato says Hardware disconnected.

By updating BIOS you are installing the latest software for your computer's mother board and your storage and other devices are not getting affected at all.

If you go to your laptops support page online there should be instructions on how to check your BIOS version. Then see if there is an updated one available on the same page.

So I bought my PC at a Dutch store and I found some drivers of it online. Can someone help me out because I have no clue which one is for the BIOS.

    Here are the drivers:
