LOL, got into a rather furious debate about this the other day.DnB heads really cherish thier vinyl, and thats cool.

After selling off my decks I do miss the feel of mixing on em. I also miss the awe factor of just staring at brand new vinyl. However, after jumping back onto ableton or Traktor the nostalgia quickly fades. imo

    Kid 'n' Play?

I still have their vinyl lying around the house somewhere.

When I had no cash, I'd buy some good 12"s here and there which I'd rip for traktor use on the family TT. Meanwhile, I practiced traktor with pitch faders only, anticipating for a brighter future with a classic setup. After realizing the possibilities of full digital, I stopped buying wax. Still, I purchased a bag, stuffed everything in it and it is now at a friend's who has a pair of not so fancy vestax and a small djm 300.

I'd never spinned them (although I knew them in and out), and my only vinyl experience was from a few minutes of ping-pong with him and his records that I didn't know.

When I took it to his place, we toured a few vinyl shops in Paris for his collection (with the 12ton bag punching holes in my shoulders) then headed home and I played most of what I had for two hours. He had to pry me off the decks and I've been looking for excuses to go back there to play some more since then

Unfortunately (for me ) I helped him convert to traktor+mpds so he only has one deck left for sampling... For me, both digital and old school are really fun in different ways and I'm waiting for my pilgrimage on a pair of 1200s with that record bag

I like a man who has lots of 7"s.

Nice 7" timecode for that authentic DVS touch.

    This made my day.

And to pitch into the thread, I've never gotten the opportunity to mix traditionally, but I'm looking into buying a pair of cheap-ish CD decks so I can learn how to do it. (Leaning towards either CDJ-200 or Axis 9s)
I'm not good at things, but I like to pretend I am.
