This is all very good news for Ableton Serato DJs. As owner of both product I look forward to the possibilities.

For one I can see Dummy Clips being extremely powerful here.

Remember that there are several styles that encompass the DJ realm and we might not all agree on the same tool or method to produce the overall vibe. The goal is the same. Rock the f*ing place like know other.

yes I am an owner of Traktor Pro so

Please lets us see Reaktor + Traktor

    Peace

Keep in mind I have absolutely no insider information, but it's just a guess. I mean, it seems to be the way this is all going. And it would be EPIC.
    That's a +1.

Especially if you think back that the original team of Ableton walked out on Native Instruments.

Well put. One of the reasons I opted out for Traktor was because I just didn't feel that Serato was moving fast enough. It seems to me that this is more of an evening of the field than it is a one up situation. Different approaches to the same problems.

Plus Traktor still has price on it's side.

However, Native Instruments does have a problem problem in moving forward in that they don't have a DAW that compares to Abelton. I would have thought that you'd be more likely to just see VST effects and instruments added into Traktor before you'd see a full Native Instruments DAW comparable to Abelton.

Agreed, there's a reason Ableton has worked solely on its DAW- there are alot of pieces that go into a working DAW from effects processors to instruments, then theres the whole i/o interface, file browsing, record, resample, arrangement windows. If we do see a NI DAW it doesn't seem to me like it would be for awhile.

BORING that is what i call this :S

I must say that i taught this was going to be huge.. i honestly taught i would be purchasing i... i taught as iv said.. ableton + serato + 1 year of work = industry stomper we got simply what we have already granted it is more streamline... But if your like me you dont want streamline and easy you want creative and WOW Llike traktor scratch pro was a wow product for me personally it was different and it was fun something new

As for traktor and ableton thats never going to happen serato got their first.. But im sure n.i will bridge the gap between their products and give me A. An interface im used too and B. something different i have no doubt n.i will learn from this product launch and give us something better.

Traktor killer?? please do explain how this will make people like me traktor users go to serato?? and i dont mean a minority of traktor users to be a traktor killer their would want to be a serious exodus of users.

But time will tell im sure...

Also notice that on the serato site it says "Part One of the Ableton/Serato Partnership", so who knows what's in store for us in the future...

I don't think this is an "industry stomper" but it does address features that I was missing in ITCH.

I don't need the 4 decks of traktor or a good majority of the advanced features, I just wanted 2 decks that I could freely route the signals. Itch serves me as a pair of turntables where I can treat digital files like my own dub plates, and ableton serves as fx host and 2 digital "decks" where digi stuff like beat indexing and all that shit goes down. I can go back to spending money on synthesizers and amps because I'm locked down now with these features
