    If your coming to the UK the north is the best with Leeds,Manchester and not forgetting the peoples republic of Liverpool all with a healthy scene. Plus the locals are a bit nicer and a beer wont cost a months wages. Dont forget about Scotland, Glasgow is a top city.

    between canada and england/uk Im now overwhelmed in options, no idea what to do.

    So many places in england mentioned, is it a pain in the ass to commute throughout the country? I guess Im asking do I just find a place to crash and just commute to where ever?

    Canada I know is huge, so that becomes a matter of rocking out in one place for a while, than moving to the next place for a while and so on and so forth.

    Thanks for all the help so far guys, really appreciate it. Sucks that I cant leave until may. But that gives me plenty of time to plan accordingly.

    I might come up to canada before may to just chill and do a mini vacay type thing, any suggestions?

    The UK literally has it all; house (yes all the sub genres that I'm so sick of hearing about, just say house for crying out loud), DnB, breaks, dubstep, hiphop, dancehall, R&B, commercial, old skool/jungle, garage/grime, happy hardcore, trance, rock, punk, indie, blues, jazz. If there's something you want music wise you're pretty guaranteed to be able to find it every weekend... and pretty much all within London, then you got the rest of the country to play with, shit go listen to Donk up north where ever that video on it was based (different thread) if you want.
    Couldn't agree with you more.

    Animus - Just so you know, the cost of living is significantly higher in the UK than it is in NYC. );

    In regards to living expenses, the uk as a whole is more exspensive than nyc? I could see london being more so but all of uk? Surely you have to have a brooklyn equivalent lol.

    No, he's right, the US is a lot cheaper than the UK, however if you're from NY you'll probably find it less of a shock if/when you come over. Central London is massively overpriced for anything, London as a whole is okay...

    The UK on the whole will be more expensive if for no other reason than the exchange rate. Some areas aren't as bad in terms of the price of rent (E. London for example), but as ohmyjosh mentioned, Central London is insane. When I was living in London the exchange rate was awful (almost $2.25 to the pound). It's an amazing place though and if work didn't bring me back to NYC I'd be there still!

    The UK ain't cheap I have to admit, however, one of its main benefits, if your in Leeds and there isn't any nights on that week which you like, manchester is an hour away. Liverpool is 2 at most. Birmingham 2. London is 2.5 on the train.
    Current Top 3:
    1. Loco Dice - Seeing through Shadows
    2. Light Year - Sex Education
    3. Simian Mobile Disco - Cruel Intentions (DJ Pierre Remix)
