I think i just threw up a little

During the Siege of Ladysmith in the Second Boer War a Bovril-like paste was produced from horse meat. Named Chevril by replacing the Bov (ox) with Chev (horse) in the Bovril name, it was produced by boiling down the horse meat to a jelly paste and serving it like beef tea.

    URK!!!!

So my mom was telling the truth???

She always used to tell me that marmite and Bovril was boiled donkeys blood.

    Not too far off!

I always thought it was bullshit.

    LOL!

    Your not the only one...

"boiling down the horse meat to a jelly paste and serving it like beef tea", I think they call it aspic. The name says it all.

Nah.....aspic is like....polony. Its the brine and bits and pieces congeeled into something solid and half see through.

    Its not bad actually.

If you saw what people eat over here.....you would be ill....seriously.
