Cutting up a Set into its individual tracks

Was just trying to figure out how to split my mix into tracks, and found this thread. I'm actually surprised that there's not a really simple way to do this (more simple than what's here). quick question-wont running your mix through audacity as stated above in order to split up your mix degrade the sound quality? Thanks for any thoughts.

As long as a WAV file goes in then the resultant wav files coming out should be no different. At least i've never noticed any difference when i've used it.

Sony's CD Architect is designed to do pretty much exactly what you're asking. I use it if I want to track-mark a mix with separate, navigable tracks and playlist info and burn it to Red Book specs.

I can arrow right or left to scrub through the track although the track can't be playing while you do it. For mixes I'll usually click on the waveform and hit the space bar to start playing. If that's not the spot I'll hit the space bar again and click in a different spot.

For displaying hh:mm:ss:frames on the bottom of the window you can see where it says selection start, end, length audio position. in each one of those is a drop down arrow that will let you select the hh:mm:ss:75 frames option you need. When the playhead is at a certain spot it will show your corresponding numbers there. I'm using Audacity 1.3.12 on a Mac.

would this make them chapters once their saved? or are they just notes?
