    Alex: “How’s it going”
    Bob: “Good and you?”
    Alex: “Doing pretty great.”
Bob: “Sorry for my creepy English, I’m not very good English.”
Alex: “Haha that’s alright I knew.”
    Bob: “Glad you understand.”
Alex: “Ok so I just have a couple questions. What is it that sparked the transformation from The Bloody Beetroots to Death Crew 77”
Bob: “What? What is sparked? Can I read the question?”
    Alex: “Of course yeah”
    Bob: “Sparked, what is sparked?”
Alex: “What is it that caused you to move in this new direction?”
Bob: “Ok I got it. Basically I would have to say The Bloody Beetroots is my electric persona, Bloody Beetroots DJ set is me and Tommy. Bloody Beetroots Death Crew 77 is me, Tommy, and Grinch. When I was playing records I was also thinking to be limited, so I wanted to play instruments live. But in that situation I couldn’t do it, so I wanted to build something for that so I build Bloody Beetroots Death Crew 77. For me I can express myself better through Death Crew 77 because I can play what I wan to play. It is the same concept of Romborama.”
Alex: “From your past interview I’ve heard you talk about how Death Crew 77 is more than a group of artist but also a radical anarchist movement. If you would agree with that, what is it about the world you would like to change through your music and this movement?”
Bob: “I don’t know if Death Crew is an anarchist movement but it’s a movement for sure. It’s a bunch of people that want to change the world through the music because we are trying to have no walls in what we do. When you see Bloody Beetroots Death Crew live you unleash lots of musical genius and listen to hardcore, house, disco, techno and that’s our way to change the world; no walls because we love music and I don’t feel the need to classify music.”
Alex: “Into one genre or another?”
Bob: “Exactly I love music and that’s all, and that’s my way to change music.”
    Alex: “I like that.”
Bob: “Anarchy in the sense of chaos, chaos. anarchy is freedom and respect of each other. That is why I use the word anarchy.”
Alex: “So a government system based on mutual respect and not laws?”
    Bob: “Yea”
Alex: “I understand this change from The Bloody Beetroots into Death Crew 77 has brought to more of an analogue production process rather than more digital, and how would you say this has affected the sound?”
Bob: “I mean it is more real in a way. It is more real but I do not want to say that digital is better than analogue or vice versa. For me I’m trying to get into my production physically, I’m doing the same thing but analogue now. The sound is changing a bit, it is more punchy, more powerful. I can also have more definition. It is necessary in this type of process.”
Alex: “Would you say this change to Death Crew 77 marks the end of your remixes or is DJing still a priority for you?”
Bob: “No DJ is not a priority anymore, the Bloody Beetroots DJ set is kind of an exclusive thing. When I want to play records I’ll play records but right now all of my energies are on Death Crew 77. It is my occasion to show to the people how I can compose music and how I can express myself in a full way.”
Alex: “In a previous interview I read you have more Spares of Romborama in production. Is that still true? And then when will be seeing a CD released under the Death Crew 77 Title?”
Bob: “I think Death Crew 77 is just a live project. The name Bloody Beetroots is the name for all productions. About Spares of Romborama, I released 2 Spares of Romborama and wanted to release more but then I went out and built Death Crew 77. I had a feeling that I wanted to evolve the live set before production. That is why I do not so many remixes in this period. I think you are going to discover more of my Bloody Beetroots productions around January/February next year. Because I’m working a lot with Dennis Lyxzen from Refused and we are working together to make a new Bloody Beetroots sound, it is going to be like the old sound but with a new part. Dennis will also join us in some shows in California, San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco and play together live. We also played in Sweden together which was great because it has been a long time. Dennis; Refused finished 12 years ago and started Noise Conspiracy, but now he is going back to his roots with The Bloody Beetroots. It’s a big thing this one, because a real cross over is happening and nobody has done it with this New Electro. They tried to do something like it, Justice tried to bring Rock and Roll into Electro, but nobody has tried to go to this extreme. I’m trying to do it because I feel I have to do it, I don’t want to be stuck in the trend of this movement. I feel alone in a way because I am trying to do something different, but I feel strong because of this new alliance with The Bloody Beetroots and Dennis. People with power and people that trust in what they do. When I started with The Bloody Beetroots you got a good feeling because we had lots of parties and lots of fun, but now we can’t do just parties. We have to put the content in what we do because everything is so superficial and we can’t do that. I’ve never released a record with no history, for an example when I released Rombo it was a tribute to Italian Futurism, When I released Cornelius it was a tribute to Michael Mulcock, and when I released Warp it was a tribute to Star Trek, and when I released Domino it was a tribute to post modernism. Romoborama was a full album with lots of contents Theolonius Monk, and the older entries. Now I want to do more but I need lyrics, I need words to express myself to the next level. That is why I need columns of histories like Dennis for example.”
Alex: “That sounds cool so you guys are definitely evolving the sounds.”
Bob: “We are evolving our sound but we are also evolving a movement. Because I want to say The Bloody Beetroots will be a source for the people who love music, that trust in what we compose and they don’t want to have success just to be famous. We want to have success because we want to express ourselves we want to talk, we want something in exchange but not like simple success. A kind of sharing of contents.”
Alex: “I think I see what you mean. I am a producer myself, and me and my peers want to know; what kind of hardware are you using now, what kind of software are you using?”
Bob: “Well its pretty simple, I use Cubase 5, I work a lot with Native Instruments, Kontakt, Absynth, Battery, Maschine, and I have lots of musical instruments. I have a Roland Phantom S super expanded with lots of piano sounds. I have a Roland Gaia which is good.”
Alex: “I checked one of those out the other day.”
Bob: “Yeah its pretty good, it reminds me of the JP 3000, the JP was a really great great synthesizer. I also use a Minimoog, a Nord Stage Compact and it sounds pretty good especially on electro sounds. That’s all”
Alex: “If you could take me through a typical day, from when you wake up to the end of the day. Or on tour is it just impossible to say?”
Bob: “Umm I don’t know if I have a normal day, I’ve been traveling all around the world of a long time, 5 years now. I don’t have a normal day; the strange days are becoming normal. So I wake up, I think, I compose something, I drive a lot, I think a lot. Usually I do not go to after parties, because every concert I do I have something to think about because something happened on stage or I have to call somebody. Now especially is a deep period because I am writing for a movie. Basically I write I think, I compose, and that is all, that is my life. I’ve got lots of music on my mind because that’s my life.”
Alex: ”That is great. I think that’s all I have for now”
    Bob: “Super.”
Alex: “Really thank you I seriously appreciate it, thank you for taking the time to seem me. Have a great show.”
Bob: “You are coming to the show yes?”
    Alex: “I’ll be front row.”
Bob: “Good good. Well goodbye, thank you.”
Alright guys here the interview. Keep in mind some changes were made to correct his sentence structure, some inaudible parts had to be filled in with my judgement, and certain portions of the interview had to be omitted per request of Bob and his Press Manager. (Accidentally spoke too much about some of his secretive projects ). Bob was a super nice guy, I'm hoping to get this cleaned up a bit more and post my full interview including my choice portions of the interview. Thought I should post the full deal for you guys though.
