ive found that a lot of people have the talent and ability to bag gigs that pay thousands per gig... the problem is, most of them are willing to sit around and do nothing instead of pushing for those gigs.

Come one guys, you know and I know that when it comes to dj-ing its doesn't matter how good you play, its how known your dj name is! You have to pay your dues in this game or have a name in the scene that you want to play in.

Lets say that your Heidi & Spencer Prat from THE HILLS (MTV) and you want to dj @ a club "fill in the blank", they wouldl be playing there in a heartbeat & the place would be fucken pack! Every mix could sound like crap, but nobody would care!

I love the fact that some dj's are making millions a year, because that pushes me to work harder to take my game to the next level. I know that I will never make millions from dj-ing, but I can day dream all day and wish that I did.

    -Peace to all the Dj's!

that's why the quickest way to get the big DJ gigs is to produce a hot track or make a bangin' remix and score a hit with it ... then you become a big attraction for the crowd because they know and like your sound, and promotors are interested in putting you on as a headliner to sell tickets

The funny thing is that everybody seems to be happy: the dj's that make a big buck, the audience that hears their favorite tunes, and the promoters that have a sold out venue....
Boo was about to see Boys Noize in a few weeks, its not going to be the same after hearing that

Which is why 80% of serious DJ's produce and are musicians in their own right aswell. Just looking at some of the set-ups you guys have on the studio thread make me 10x more envious as a producer rather than a DJ

Personally, I see the DJ part of things as the fun side in a way (for me) where as the producing side is more serious and will get you noticed alot easier. Most of the "big" DJ's are where they are from producing their own music.

I also wouldnt solely attribute Miss Ronsons success to her choice in fuzz (although fair plays ) I reckon her brother might have had something to do with it with the songs he has produced (dya see where I'm going with this )
