Family ran itself into the ground during the course of my childhood, music was really the only place i could escape to. Coupled with highschool bullies and smalltown politics, i had to escape frequently.

About halfway through my 15th year during one summer, my dad shacked up with a biker's commonlaw, the biker threatened to kill us all and burn the farm down, cops found them about 15km away. shortly after that there was a divorce, and a car accident while my parents were coming to pick me up from a friends. During this time i spent about six months living at friends' and family member's, all the while escaping into music.

After that i ended up moving into the city which i reside, and then spent time losing sight of pretty much all things important. Friends invited me out to the underground scene, flipped candy, and clarity engulfed me like nothing i had ever felt.

Have you SEEN the APC80? That muh fugger must have 'dispense now' buttons for every conceivable form of stimulant and hallucinogenic.

And I got into DJing by seeing my next door neighbour in uni halls mixing with VDJ and thinking it looked awesome. Then I bought a controller, then I found this site...

...then eventually I bought all this stuff.

I have a friend who throws a big New Year's Eve party every year. The first year it sucked. The second year it was fun and people were dancing to songs this guy was playing off his computer. He wasn't going to be there for year 3 and so I volunteered to "DJ" from my iTunes. Getting ready for it, I thought "Someone has to have made software that does this…" haha and little did I know, obviously, there's LOADS of software for it.

Djay by Algoriddim was the first one I found and it had a very clean UI, so I grabbed it and then saw the Spin and figured it looked too cool to pass up. Did that New Year's Eve party, had a blast and have been hooked ever since.

Still rock on that Spin, but have since moved to Traktor and added a few pieces along the way.
