I basically think that having a big grid of pads on there instead of a pair of jogwheels is going to be more useful to me. I do like the S4 and I've tried one, but it's very big and doesn't really suit me.

    but that's just me.

had my hands on the twitch yesterday, and was pretty amazed by the performance in itch. slicer is different as in traktor, and i am not too sure if you can map this equally in traktor.

pads could be bigger... (only thing bugging me)

What did you think of the sound quality? I've noticed that in the specs of the twitch it has a slightly lower quality sound card to the S4. Do you think that sound quality wise it would hold up in a club/party?

I'm selling my S4, and I'm almost sold on getting the Twitch. Its only the difference in the sound card thats holding me back.

after reading everything and watching endless videos I'm gonna gona for the S4, I'd forgot about the scratch option which might come in handy for parties when I'm not in the club and my friend hooks up his turntables for a bit more variety, plus I play alot of varied styles of music and just think the work flow would suit me better on the S4,

been a good thread to read though, cheers chaps!

Hey guys I've been reading up on the sound quality, and there's just one thing I'm keen to know.

The S4 has a 24bit/96Khz sound card, and the Twitch has a 24bit/48Khz sound card. Will there be a noticeable difference in the sound quality from the Twitch having the lower sample rate?

If not then I think you could say the Twitch has the same quality sound card as the S4 or A2?

Well CDs are written at 44,100khz and that's what most of us use as our Traktor output sample rate. So having a 96khz sound card is pretty pointless for DJing imo.

And is that difference noticeable? Unlikely, on any system or to any audience you're likely to play to.

Yeah thats true FEP, I never realized that. The only reason why I asked is I noticed that the S4 has a 24bit/96Khz sound card, and they market theirs as the best, but after what you've reminded me about I don'y think there would be a noticeable difference. Cheers.

Yeah pretty sure no one would be able to tell a difference.

the specs of an audio unit say practically nothing about the sonic capabilities. The best DAC i own has a cheap Texas Instruments/Burr Brown chip, which is capable of only 16bit 44100 but can still outperform the S4 and many others in terms of dynamics and detail of the sound (the S4 is still louder, though).

If Novation, as claimed, did the job right, you may well expect great sound coming out of Twitch.
