I understand the concept, but I say again I just don't care for the O over the G. It just doesn't flow right for me visually.

personally i think v4 is cool dude!

what it comes down to in the end, if you make the design yourself is a) do you like it and b) who cares what other people think about it

Um... no. Find a real graphic designer to make you a logo, none of them look good.

You should try bull fighting too, you may not have any clue how to do it but eventually you will be able to dodge that bull after a few years of practice, in the meantime you will be dead... thanks for calling!

quite liked the brushed effect on some of those - but not sure that really works for a logo as needs to look good when small probably.

they all seem to have the whole "O" over the "G" thing going on tho - that just makes them say "MOAL G" to me... not that that in itself is a big deal if the overall look was more distinctive and instantly recognisable etc - but not sure i'd go for any of those - tho they all have their merits.

not that i have any design skills of my own mind u but my brother is a designer so i don't need to be

Try a squared font like i suggested earlier.

The M is situated lower than the A, thats just you not being precise but it looks off alot.

Spoken like someone who has no idea what so ever, as to what the purpose of a logo is.

I think all the negative comments are pointless... wheres the constructive critisism??

And whats wrong with a dj trying to learn to do graphic design... I consider myself a dj/controllerist and I can draw a 3d rendering of a building then have a camera orbit around it and it all be drawn to engineering specs then be able to make that drawing a reality... does that mean I need to spend less time doing that and more time djing?? A lot of people on here dj for a hobby and make a pretty good living outside of it.

So I think the 'retards' with the 'retarded' replies need to stop as it is simply a waste of you typing... If you dont want to help why comment.

And back to the OP I think the last one was pretty kool... It looks like something that could stand out on posters for gigs ... people would start to recognise this and be like "i like his/her music, fuck'it lets go in"

The brushed strokes are not doing anything to serve the design or focus the goal which is to SEE and comprehend the logo itself. It provides texture, but all the strokes are leading your eye away from the design itself as well as not working well with each other directionally. Another way of putting it, is your "design" is pointing to all over the place which makes it confusing to look at. The confusion is then backed up by the stacking of 2 letters that probably should not be stacked, unless you were trying to convey a different letter or number i.e 9 or an 8.

You need the design to focus on itself and keep your attention to what the purpose is. So ask yourself, what is the purpose, what are you trying to accomplish, is there more underlying meanings that you can use design to enforce the MAIN purpose or goal.

If you are dead set on doing this yourself, the internet is your friend, read about text design/logo design. Look at many examples, find new inspiration. I get the feeling somewhere along the way you got really excited about stacking those 2 letters, and have difficulty stepping out of that box. And take heed from the above post by sobi. The point of a logo IS predominantly, other people friendly, you want to care what other people think. Liking it by yourself, is not enough to make a successful logo.

I just wanted to add that all the comments that some perceive as negative, are actually just honest opinions, and as a designer you should be greatfull that people do not fear to be so open on forums. In person most people just blow smoke up your ass and say, yeah man it looks pretty cool.

I will agree that not many have said anything constructive coming from a design standpoint, but again, they are saying what they think coming from a non designer background, and that is just as valuable. If all a bunch of people can say, is "it sucks" trust them. Most of the people who look at logos are not designing them.

Dont trust your friends and family, they are notorious smoke blowers to aspiring artists.
