Help! nightmare gig

all well and good but the problems being 1, its used and you dont know the history, 2, its ebay, 3, something that i depend on for a sizeable chunk of my income id rather have new, with warranty, and finally even a used macbook with ALMOST the specs of my windows laptop is a lot more money that i cannot afford at the moment, i may get a macbook in the future when ive got a spare 1.5k to blow on it but for now everything is running sweet

My colleague just bought new HP gigging laptop recently... Hardware power setting like crazy, trimmed everything and dropouts were insane even in high latency levels...

I fix'd it

msconfig go to start up tab and DISABLE fukin everything! at the end it was HP's power managment tool that i suspect was the main culprit.


edit> damn i'm late, i thought it was urgent matter... i've read through the thread now... ACPI battery shit... seems really similiar to what i did, but maybe better.

haha yeah ive gone back through now re enabling things one by one to see what i can and cant run whilst gigging, turns out the only thing i actually need disabled is the battery management, runs absolutely fine with everything else, including wifi and all visual effects enabled! i wish i knew that at the start of it all lol, but lesson learned. @ Kupujte_Pytle, tell him to give it a go, he might be surprised.
