In my experience, as a UK citizen who moved to the US, this racial divide between Rap, Mexicali and White Boy Rock thing is purely a feature of US music. In the UK and Europe, nobody cares.

There are also other racial groups like the Bangladeshi and Indians with their Banghra Parties, Jamacans who moved to the UK in the 1950's with their Raggae and Roots, the North Africans in France with their unique Hip Hop style. These all get mixed into the same musical pot and we all get along because at the end of the day *it's about the music*.

It's only the US who thinks it matters.

Good music will get listened to, copied and spread everywhere, end of.

If you want to talk about 'racial divides', you'll be talking about political, economical and social dimensions which are beyond the scope of DJTT IMHO.

Even though these stereotypes may be true about what we spin based on our race.....BUT it's also true that am going to be forever judge for Being a "African American" that plays "Electro,Dubstep,Hardstlye....and SOME HOUSE"

Untill someone can point me to more artist like "Felix Da House cat,and Carl Cox....Then I'll rethink my opinoin, but untill then...I STRONGLY urge you to think about it

Meaningful content? If by that, you mean gas to help start a flame.

    There's really nothing meaningful here.

Yes, those badly drawn memes exist for other reasons than fuelling flame wars.

    Wait, no they don't.

*shrugs* Reading through the thread, it doesn't appear that there's anything anyone needs to be concerned about. The OP has stated an opinion (that appears to be borne out by what I've seen) that the US has a particular racial divide amongst styles of dance music.

Most of the posts are disagreeing with him.

Except for the ones that are saying "don't talk about things like this, it might be controversial".

Possibly this actually belongs in Off Topic, but I personally think there's some really interesting stuff to be gained by actually discussing it ...
