    Simple mixing is preferable to me over an overload of FX/scratching/juggling/trick mixing, especially as the people that overuse that stuff are often not that skilled in the first place and it just sounds shit.

    It's all about finding the right balance though. If you can do that, then it's better than just doing simple mixing all the time IMO. It's like adding seasoning to a meal. Don't use any and it's bland. Put too much on and you ruin it.

    yup thats how I see if effects sound good, when they become extremely noticeable it usually isnt a good thing
