there are resources all over this forum and through google you can check for optimizing a mac for music and DJing.
    It's the FAQ. Read it.

Dude, are you saying you're having issues? I'm lost now...first you asked for advice on your gig, and now you're looking for technical help?

Are you sure you've played around with your setup enough before playing live? You don't sound the least bit comfortable.

I was having issues friday night, my computer was skipping in some tracks when i was rehearsing.. this is why I was asking.

About the gig, It went well got there about 8:30.. we sound checked using an electro mixtape.. which the owner was kind of pissed about, he kept saying to us he wanted vocals! I kept having ot assure him people were going to like it and finally he was cool about it.

Set up was a breeze aswell.. they had a booth set up for us facing the dancefloor.. it had just 2 RCA's plugging into a mixer and a CDJ when we got there. We disconnected them and me and my buddy hooked up the audio 4 DJ, the VCI blackse and two macbooks..

We throw on a mixtape from about 9 - 9:45. The club was literally dead until about 11:15. We were playing house, vocal house until then at about half volume level as requested by the owner Jorge. As soon as 11:20 hit there was a rush of about 60 - 70 people flew in and started getting bottles and drinks like mad.. it was insane. We threw on some electro.. 80's hits and some rock and more electro until about 2:40.. the 5 biggest hits of the night have been.. Show me love - laid back luke.. everyone was singing, Roxanne - discotechs remix again everyone was going wild, Hip Hop - Diplo Remix, Girls - Busy P Remix and we threw on sandstorm at around 2:30 people we jumping it was crazy!

The alchohol situation was cool too.. the one promoter said they couldent get us a bottle of jack as I requested but he gave us a $100 tab.. which we used to the full extent.. I think our bill came out to 99.76. We held out liqour well drinking only beers until about 1:30.. then the owner came with jagar bombs and shit went downhill from vodka shots left and right haha.

Overall It was a good experience kind of rattling noone showed up to 11:30 but I guess how it goes.. definately pumped for my next gig next thursday!

I disagree with this completly. As long as you have enough hard disk space djing from the internal drive is far better in about 100 ways than from an external hard drive.
Bah , i hate external drives. So does Matthew Dear !!!
