im just saying that nobody called anything EDM back then. sorry to rant but i hate that term, and many people (not you, obviously) that use it don't have a clue about dance music.

So that's fine if they want to call their shitty music EDM, I just dont like it when they call my music that.

Funny thing is I've had the exact opposite experience. For ages, everyone around the north east USA called it all techno, and most of the clubbers and ravers called it EDM because of that.

Back in the day it was called Synth Pop or New Wave. First evolution of todays EDM.

Actually, it was disco which was the first form, and eventually became house.

Who cares what it's called. TS could of said Dance Music or Electronic music.. same thing. IMO, it's just a broader term to encompass all sub genres of dance music... techno, house, tech-house, prog, electro, electroclash.etc. etc...
