Yup, but that doesn't mean I didn't like it! Just decided to go in a different direction after a while :-)
Dude, calm down.
All of the information needed was available. It's not it's fault that you didn't do the research.
Frankly, I think the fault lies with Maschine. If it were designed a bit better, you could manually beat match it to whatever source you wanted to. Unfortunately, the controls just aren't there. The "fine" pitch adjustment is just too sensitive to really be useful. Just adding pitch bend buttons would go a a long way.
true, i cant say that i put all the blame on itch and the controller...i am a dumb ass as well, but i got all caught up with how great A&H products are, and they are, sound quality is AMAZIN!!
im just "disappointed" that i set my bar for itch WAY to high. though i was gona get software that is comparable to Serato scratch...
am i wrong to expect nothing but the best from on of the ORIGINAL DVS guys? i mean, FUCK! you cant even scratch on this damn thing!
on a side note...It would be great if maschine came with a built in midi clock and possibly a sound card of its own?
The first DVS was called Final Scratch. It kind of sucked. Well, not for the time. And FS2 was pretty cool.
Maschine does output a MIDI clock.
And including a sound card would just make it ~$300 more expensive……and as it doesn't need it as its biggest strength is being used inside a DAW. The sound card would probably be a huge matter of contention…everyone who used one professionally would probably be annoyed if they couldn't use their existing awesome sound cards, and amateurs would probably get in fights about whether it was good enough or not.
Definitely no on the soundcard - why lock people in? It makes sense for DVS because you need to make sure the soundcard can handle the timecode signal properly, but there's no need for it with Maschine. Plus, as Mostapha said - $300 more, so $900 for Maschine which is already almost prohibitively expensive.
As for Itch - it's long been the red-headed stepchild of SSL. It was originally clearly a "me too" response to Traktor, but recently Serato have been taking it more seriously. Be glad it's not comparable to Serato scratch though - SSL's midi support is awful and the UI is very eh (not that Itch's UI is much better though).
I'd actually consider using Itch as a mobile "screw crappy booths" kind of rig…if it supported Bridge. The sad thing is that I'm not even using it yet because I need a 3rd table (not willing to set beat grids)……I just know I will. And that takes Itch out of contention. I'd rather map a controller to SSL and deal with the issues.
