^^ horrible music and even more horrible lights.
So I guess a tiny venue with a few blacklights tubes and a strobe is more your thing ?

Different strokes for different folks, but IMHO that looks like one hell of a stage and lighting setup and only IMHO enhances the "show" ... and at the end of the day the showboating and big hits is all the regular folk go to these gigs for, not to be whingy about whether or not XYZ actually played everything live.

90% of the audience are not DJ's or Aspiring artists, or Musical Connoisseurs they go to see whats big and what their friends are going to see

P.S. Fair enough if I was going to go and see Hawtin, Cox or Digweed playing live I would expect a lil less mental with the light and stage setup. The music being played and the lighting reflected each other pretty well in this case and judging from the crowd I'm sure they agree (again IMHO).

I've seen John Digweed twice at his Bedrock label nights in London and its all about the music and not him. Oh, and fantastic sound...no redlighting in evidence (at least to my ears).

What do you guys think about makes sense or pure hate?
I particularly like the way the author thinks EDM is a genre of electronic dance music, rather than an old term that accurately describes the whole House/Techno/Trance/D'n'B sphere.

Not for nothing, but that sounds almost as ignorant as some of the media does. They've been covering it for a long time, and to be honest, this isn't the first time dance music has exploded over here. It did in the early to mid 90's. Then after the ecstasy fueled train ran out of gas, it went away.
