what is the deal with the derailing backspin?

What can I say its all about crowd participation. DJ drops a track crowd go mental and the track gets rewound.

Back in the day when I was a little raver it would happen more than once. Listen to the old DJ Hype stuff on you tube sometimes 3+ rewinds in an hour.

You've got to be there to apprentice rewinds.

Its got to be on vinyl too. Digital rewinds sounds, well digital.... Junglist for life!!

My buddy pulled off one of the cleanest backspins on new years. We started of with House and ended up on DnB by the end of the night, and he dropped his next track in slightly late, grabbed the record, spun it, and then picked up and dropped the needle right on the proper spot without missing a beat at all. He looked over at me with his eyes bugging out and said hes never done that infront of anyone before. He tried one later and it just didn't go over well at all.

I got into all of DJing through dnb and jungle, and was never too fond of the backspin, but it definitely has its place if done well.

I saw Danny Byrd about a year ago and he pulled 3 reloads on an at the time unreleased Original Sin track. Everyone was incredible.

Nothing gets the crowd more excited than a well time reload.

I was playing garage/bass to a Belfast crowd that wasn't even that full of fans, most were there for a girls birthday, but I was amazed with the reaction to it. Took so much self control not to rewind Gotta Get Thru This, had to go a bit cheesy to include the casual club-goers there, got the second best reaction of my set haha
