Master of the Mix season 3

This is one of my favorite show...enjoy it ...

We can all complain about the many short comings this show has, but at least there is a DJ competition show.
For those that are in the show, the national advertising they recieve as DJ's is fantastic.

Besides the lack of controllerists, (and the one controllerist they did choose using an iPad) I find it a bit strange that the club standard CDJ's isn't used at all. If the competition is just for Serato DVS users (and vinyl users), which it seems to be, why even include the guy with the iPad? Is it just so Kid Capri can have something to poop on? Or was he the only controllerist using Serato they had to choose from?
From what they showed of the iPad set I wasn't impressed, but hard to tell what it was really like with the editing. What I did find funny is Kid Capri didn't even know he played the requied songs. It looked like he stopped listening the minute the guy started.

I propose a new show title "Master of the Serato DVS or Vinyl Scratch Mix"

Ehh some of the DJs on there are so terrible that if I ever see their name on a flier, I'd laugh/ never go.
There's only a few DJs up there that are actually legit. The rest are AWFUL

I love how people are so hateful on the forums... everyone is an "expert" ... a lot of wasted energy that could be better spent in the lab

What even post on the forums then. Hateful? Did you even watch the show? I think its hateful how they are making DJs out to be. And how bias and one dimensional they seem to be promoting the art.

Sorry, we'll all go sit in our Bedrooms, STudios, boxes, "lab" and completely disregard whats going on in the music scene around us. I mean if you dont know whats going on, it cant affect you right?

I watched a couple re-runs of season 1...didn't really care for the show either BUT also didn't spend much time other then my 2 post to comment on the show and the "politics" of what a real DJ is.

Damn why are some of you guys so mad about the scratching? It's a 3 minute round, I mean scratching isn't the only option but the fact that there's over 30 years of competition history where scratching has dominated and been refined in pretty much the same format gives it a huge advantage. Not saying scratching is better than any other type of DJing or any of that, but in this format it pretty much is.

Not mad about the scratching here. Even though some were excessive with it.
My main problem is how close minded Kid Capri was about the iPad guy before he even heard the guy play. Not to mention some of the other DJ's (and it wasn't the better DJ's either).

I realize it is just a TV show with some producer/director who cares only about ratings and making Smirnoff happy, so I'm not really upset about the show or anyone on it. It is what it is. Discussing the show with other DJs can be entertaining though.
