Serato download is not a demo. It is the full working version of serato. It just doesn't work with two decks without a serato box. It works as a single player but not two decks.

But you can organise crates and stuff and save those crates.

Then when you plug in the box (say at a club) then it works dandy!!

I did not know that. Thanks dude.

Heres one , does Itch only work with the VCI 300 and NS7 or does it work with the VCI 100 (i know the 300 is high res etc). A working Itch Demo would be good.

    No worries

I don't know anything about itch but as i understand it, it's HiD not midi so can't be patched to anything other than a dedicated controller ie the 300 and NS7.

Defo worth downloading serato (mac or windows) and having a sniff round innit anyway - as it's free ;-)

Yeah i got it on my Mac and my PC. Ive had a fiddle .

Ive used my mates SSL setup and i like it, i have absolutely no beef at all with Serato despite what people on another forum may think.

If i spent less money on cars id probably buy Serato just for kicks !!!

most clubs that have a serato setup, usually have the TT57 or the serato box hooked up to the 1200's or cdj's. The serato box is usually bolted or tied down to the booth.

    to answer the ops question:
depends if your buddy wants to be a turntable dj or a midi dj. the upside with traktor is that if you buy the traktorscratch version you can have both options of midi and/or turntable for control. where as I understand serato is quite limitied in the midi department, i've only had a quick go at it on a freinds system... it was fun, just like spinning with analogue tables - but it wasn't my bag. I much prefer the control and options available to me in traktor.

I am buying Serato when they get the Ableton business sorted.. And I AM 'Super pissed' at NI for not developing the patch technologey. Traktor is such a fun program... its going to take Serato years to get to that level. And it will take NI years to develop a plug-in or thier own DAW to tie the monopoly into. I really hate proprietary developement.

I don't think I'd make the Very Unimportant List myself. Ministry is not my cuppa Yorkshire.

    just works with approved controllers.
We don't believe in the star system. We want the focus to be on the music. If we have to create an image, it must be an artificial image. That combination hides our physicality and also shows our view of the star system. It is not a compromise-daftpunk
