in the mean time I will take out a loan to get a new s4.
cause how else am i going to keep throwing/playing shows if I don't have the equipment to preform?

You're being bashed because you come on a closely knit community of DJs with zero posts, no contributions, basically begging strangers for cash on the internet.

Asking for help is different than what you are doing. There are other avenues for getting money to buy a controller you 'need'. Because of kickstarter/gofundme and similar sites, everyone thinks that if they post their sob story on the internet that people will just throw money at them, and that is not the case.

Everyone HAS worked hard to get the gear they use, including yourself, so you should have known beforehand that no one (especially other DJs) would dig this type of whining and begging.

Your attitude and morals are poor; start charging for your parties like EVERY OTHER PROMOTER EVER and quit crying. Throw a free party once in a while to get new people to come out, and charge $5 cover for the rest to start. Increase the cost when the talent and attendance calls for it.


You have had a great amount of free advice from this post, so all is not lost, but we aren't your personal charity.

I have to disagree with you on this. Asking for a signing bonus from your future employer is much different than asking for handouts from people who have no connection to you. Your employer gets a hard working employee for the bonus, what do we get in return for donating? Many of us were in his shoes at one point in time saving up for gear, but we managed.

What do you get in return? Dude that's kind of the whole concept for donations, you get a warm feeling in your heart if he was successful in pulling those strings. It didn't work for him this time with this bunch, but if there had been a middle aged guy from that area of America who thought, "wish I had those parties when I was a kid tipping cows," his luck might have been different and my point is that people who ask will always be ahead of people who don't ask. Asking for something is taking initiative.

You knew you had a 99% chance of being bashed before you opened your mouth and you went about it in a horrible way. And most people are not willing to help those who don't help themselves, which you could easily do with the donation bucket or by charging money, by not doing so you are not serving the community you wish to help, you're letting them down dude. Not like you are throwing dance parties for kids in hospitals or some charity. If those kids can afford ketamine they can give you $10.
