There's a difference between Stanton and technics.

Nothing Stanton has made or will make is a standard.

I agree I have tried them both and thought the Stanton was a wicked turntable. and when you rest your hand on a OEM turntable it does not stop. 1200's don't stop.

so now that I am getting stantons I think I might need to modify my dj table. two stantons weigh 84 pounds and my djm 800 mixer weighs about 20 pounds. that's 100 pounds of solid dj technology. im thinking angle brackets on both sides of the feet. then I will screw a second top onto it so it wont bend in half. I will use so many screws it acts like one top. if you think about it it will actually work!

1. Tidy your shit up lols.

2. That thing is an accident waiting to happen. Throw it away and get something with support in the middle. There will be far too much weight on the joints of the legs, and even if you do put braces on it, any flexing will just tear the screws right out of the braces.

3. Its pointless spending lots of money on upgraded gear when you dont have a decent workbench. If it was me, id fix that before new TTs. They are going to get smashed when (not if) that table gets leaned on and collapses.

If you put your hand on vinyl on a direct drive turntable and the platter stops then you are applying to much force.
No turntable worth speaking about will stop when you touch the vinyl unless you a freaking gorilla.

lol its not as tipsy as you think. the brackets it has are more than a foot deep and they have a bar from either point. it would callapse if something nailed it but that's not going to happen. it never leaves my room. it would be cool to have something with proper legs though. but I am tall so I need a high bench. maybe I could mod a high school bake sale table? I think they are $80 at home depot.

well you can manipulate T92's so they never skip. they are actually really good. for example just touching it with two fingers at the side of the record(on or the side). I am not really a hand masher its more that my hands are slippery so to grip them I have to push harder. after you play 3 or 4 records it goes away. what I said earlier is what would happen if you try to force it. I tried a pair of st.150's at a coffee shop a few years ago and the platter never stopped. just so you know I spin with my middle finger and either finger next to it to touch the record and I never touch the side of the platter.

The only technical difference between the Techs and the top end Stantons is that the Techs still have slightly more usable torque, and the Wow and Flutter is also lower on the Techs.

The techs have lower W&F than all the Hanpin tables AFAIK.

You mean easier to manage torque right. Cause the tech starting torque is 1.6 and quarts torqque after .4 seconds is around 1.8

Get a decent desk at a second hand shop and prop it up on cinder blocks if you cant afford the workbench bruv.
